Recently Epic Games announced that they will be adding cross-play support to their Battle Royale game Fornite. The supported platforms will be PC, PlayStation 4 and XBOX One, iOS and Android so you can cross-play between any of them. This will make it easier to play with your friends if you don’t have the same consoles but also enjoy playing Fortnite.
The Fortnite News on the Epic Games Website says: “We’re happy to announce today that in partnership with our friends at Microsoft, Fortnite will feature cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-purchase, between Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS and (in the next few months) Android.“
It continuous: “Contrary to what may have been implied, Microsoft has long been a leading voice in supporting cross-platform play, connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles. We’ve been working together with them over the last several months to make this possible, and will bring this functionality to Fortnite players on Xbox right along with other platforms.”
Furthermore it says: “As we shared a few days ago, starting Monday you can sign-up for the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS. On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac. Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.” Fortnite will soon come to iOS and Android in the same style as you know it from PS4, XBOX or PC.
Selected users will receive an invite via email shortly after signing up to the mobile beta. Over time more and more users will get access to the beta so don’t get mad if you do not have it right away. Tell your friends to sign up as well because if you get in you will receive codes to share with your friends so they can play with you.

In the last weeks Fortnite has gained some ground to its main competitor PUBG. This may be caused by update news like this. Nevertheless PUBG is available a little longer and also has a mobile version but the downside is that it is exclusively available in China.
As of now PlayStation and XBOX version are not connected but in the past it happened already and games like Rocket League prove that this is really working as they also support it for some time now.
Follow our site and you will always be up-to-date with the latest gaming news. We will also be talking about other games than Fortnite but right now it is one of the hottest games on the market and we also enjoy playing it so this is a plus.
